Trade-offs

What to plan for.

Fabric realism needs modelling investment.
Photoreal fabric is a discipline. Boucle, velvet, linen and leather all require careful material and light setup. Expect real modelling time.
Range fidelity depends on brief quality.
Missing dimensions or ambiguous fabric spec show up in the finished animation. Tight briefs shorten review cycles significantly.
Restaging is not free.
Restaging is cheap compared with a photo shoot, but each new environment or restyle still needs rendering time. Not a swap-and-go operation.
Some categories still lean photography.
Vintage, heritage and lived-in editorial furniture campaigns still benefit from live-action. CGI is not always the fastest route.

For most modern furniture categories, yes. Photoreal fabric, careful material work and directed lighting close the gap that used to exist between CGI and photography.

How does furniture animation scale across ranges?

Once one silhouette is modelled, every colourway, fabric and size is a low-marginal-cost re-render from the same source. Range extensions do not require a new shoot.

What source files do you need?

Technical drawings or CAD where available, fabric and finish spec, colourway list, dimensions, mood boards and any reference imagery.
