The brief
How ImageNova used VFX to help Sony launch the WF-C710.
Sony needed to communicate the premium value of the WF-C710 — from water resistance and material quality to colourway consistency — in a way that felt unmistakably “Sony” across launch channels, without relying on complex live-action macro shoots.
We translated those features into a high-clarity visual narrative using photoreal CGI, macro-driven product animation, and tightly controlled studio lighting rigs — showcasing water interaction, surface detail and finish accuracy with repeatable precision, so the same hero visuals could scale across web, social and retailer listings.
What the client wanted
Two short animated segments built to integrate into a full-length commercial shot by ImageNova for Sony's latest wireless earphones — plus feature-led imagery and rendered colourways composited into ImageNova's product photography.
Why XO3D
ImageNova had previously entrusted us with interactive content for Sony's web pages, so they already knew the standard of our work. The existing relationship gave them confidence that we could match the quality of their videography and the precision of Sony's visual identity.
Where we added value
CGI gave the production flexibility to showcase features that traditional macro videography struggles with — simulated water-droplet formation, controlled colourway swaps, and consistent lighting across every finish. One pipeline, every output, brand-aligned.
Services delivered
A single CGI pipeline behind every output.
Animation.
Feature-led product animation showcasing the WF-C710 across its core selling points — water resistance, colourway range and finish quality.
CGI.
Photoreal rendering of multiple colour variants from a single 3D source — every finish lit and graded to a single visual standard.
VFX.
Simulated water-droplet formation and surface interactions that would be impractical or impossible to capture with traditional macro videography.
Compositing.
Rendered colourways composited cleanly into ImageNova's live-action product photography for retailer-ready hero imagery.
The work
Eight outputs. One creative direction.
A complete set of feature-led product visuals — built from a single 3D source so every cut, colourway and angle holds the same brand standard.
-
WF-C710 floating hero — black.
Macro-driven product animation of the WF-C710 in its hero black finish — controlled studio lighting, isolated form, premium material read.

Colourway CGI animation.
Feature-led CGI segments highlighting the breadth of the WF-C710 colour story — designed to drop into ImageNova's full-length commercial edit and product detail page modules.
-
Water resistance simulation.
IPX4 water resistance communicated as a visual story — simulated droplet formation and beading effects shot at macro scale with full directional control.
-
Surface and finish detail.
Macro-scale stills capturing the relationship between the WF-C710 housing material and the simulated water effect — repeatable across colourways without a reshoot.
-
Grey colourway — angle 01.
Tightly framed CGI of the WF-C710 grey variant — built to integrate cleanly alongside ImageNova's lifestyle photography on the product detail page.
-
Grey colourway — angle 02.
Alternate cinematography of the grey finish — a second angle from the same lighting setup so retailer assets and editorial modules feel like the same shoot.
-
Grey colourway — angle 03.
A third coverage angle completing the grey-finish set — designed for editorial sequencing across pre-launch video, in-store screens and marketplace listings.

Why CGI for the WF-C710?
Director’s Commentary.
CGI gave us the flexibility to showcase features that would be difficult to capture with traditional videography — like the simulated formation of water droplets.
It let us isolate key product details and present multiple colour variants with precision and consistency.
The result is a visually compelling representation of the earphones that stays consistent across every launch surface — ImageNova’s commercial edit, retail screens and PDP modules.
