WHAT IS A RENDER FARM?
Definition.
A render farm is a high-performance computer system, specifically designed to render computer-generated imagery (CGI). This system, essentially a cluster of powerful computers, is employed when a single computer’s resources are insufficient due to the high computational demands of rendering tasks.
In the process of rendering, 3D models, scenes, and effects are converted into the final image or animation that you see on the screen. This can be a very computationally intensive process, especially for complex scenes with high-resolution textures, detailed geometry, or advanced lighting effects.
The concept of a render farm is based on parallel computing, where rendering tasks are distributed among multiple machines to speed up the process. This way, a task that could take weeks or even months on a single workstation can be completed in a fraction of the time. Render farms are essential in industries such as film and animation, architectural visualisation, product design, and any field where high-quality digital imagery is required.
FASTER ALTERNATIVE.
Efficiency.
A render farm offers significant value to businesses by dramatically increasing the speed and efficiency of rendering complex 3D graphics and animations. By utilising a network of high-performance computers working in parallel, render farms can handle large-scale rendering tasks much faster than a single machine, reducing project turnaround times. This efficiency allows businesses to meet tight deadlines and take on more projects simultaneously, thereby increasing productivity and profitability.
Furthermore, the enhanced rendering capabilities enable the production of higher-quality visual content, which can improve marketing performance, product imagery, and overall brand perception. This technological advantage is crucial for businesses looking to stay competitive in industries such as entertainment, architecture, and product design.

HOW CAN USING A RENDER FARM HELP YOU?
Advantages.
Improved Quality.
Render farms allow for higher quality outputs, as they have the capacity to handle more complex graphics, textures, lighting, and effects. This enables creators to push the boundaries of realism and detail in their digital imagery.
Greater Output.
With the enhanced computational power of a render farm, companies can produce higher volumes of high-quality images or animations within tight deadlines. This is particularly beneficial for industries that require a large number of rendered images or frames.
Speed & Efficiency.
One of the primary benefits of a render farm is the ability to significantly speed up the rendering process. By leveraging the power of multiple computers working in unison, complex projects can be rendered in a fraction of the time it would take a single computer.
Cost-Effective.
While the initial setup cost might seem high, a render farm can be a cost-effective solution in the long run. The time saved on rendering tasks can be redirected to other creative or productive tasks, thus increasing overall efficiency and productivity.
WHAT DO I NEED TO GET STARTED?
Project Checklist.
To obtain an accurate quote for your file, we recommend following these steps:
1. Open your file.
Open your file in KeyShot and select “Save Package.
2. Upload your file.
Upload the saved package to either WeTransfer or Google Drive
3. Copy download link.
Include the download link to the KSP file in your request. By providing us with the KSP file, we can offer you a more precise estimate for the rendering time and generate a specific quote. Remember to lock your output resolutions and cameras as well.
Please note that all our prices are based on the amount of time required. If you want a definitive plan, please send us your KSP file. Users with an EDU license will receive a 20% discount.
Here’s an overview of our pricing, ranging from simple one-hour scenarios to renting our full farm for weeks. Please keep in mind that for enterprise customers planning to use the farm for extended periods, we offer a special package not mentioned here. Use-case scenarios and recommended plans are as follows:
Starter
Ideal for small and short animations, as well as up to 10,000 32-sample still images within one hour.
Daily
Designed for medium to large-scale animations (1080p@30/60fps – 4k@30fps for 600 frames) and supports up to 20,000 60-sample still images within 2 or 3 hours per image.
Weekly
This plan allows for unlimited usage within one week, catering to power users who want to maximise the farm’s potential by rendering various projects.
HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT RENDER FARM SERVICE?
Considerations.
Choosing the right render farm service involves several considerations to ensure that the service aligns with your specific needs and objectives. Here are some factors to consider:
Software compatibility
It’s crucial that the render farm service supports the specific software and plugins you use for your projects. Whether it’s Keyshot, 3DS Max, Maya, Blender, or any other rendering software, compatibility should be a top priority.
