XO3D as Speaker at Keyshot World 2023 in London

It’s our second year as Presenter for KeyShot World 2023, this time, in person. In 2021, we had the opportunity to speak at the Virtual KeyShot World 2021, and we’re so pleased to have been invited to become part of it for the second time around.

The event was organised by INNEO Solutions and was held at Lumiere London’s White Loft. Our entire UK team came down to experience the conference together. We were joined by a number of 3D artists, business owners, and marketers, all eager to learn about the latest in KeyShot and 3D technology.

KeyShot World 2023 took place on Wednesday 22 November 2023 at Lumiere London on Underwood Street. INNEO’s programme for the day combined talks on CGI, animation and virtual and augmented reality with workshops for beginners and advanced users, and one-to-one sessions with INNEO and Luxion specialists. The keynote from Luxion, the developer of KeyShot, included the release of KeyShot 2023.2.

Our managing director, Alex Mann, spoke about “The New Wave of Advertising with 3D Technology: An In-depth Look at GLBs and Interactive Content”. The talk looked at what GLB files and interactive 3D can do in marketing, and showed how KeyShot fits into our workflow, supported by client case studies in which that approach gave customers a more interactive experience of the product.

Why GLB files matter to product brands

A GLB is a single-file 3D model that a web page can display as an interactive viewer, so a buyer can rotate the product and inspect its shape and detail. On Android, Google’s Scene Viewer can open a GLB in augmented reality, and a matching USDZ file does the same on Apple devices through Quick Look, launched from the product page with no app to install.

KeyShot can export a scene as a GLB with its materials and textures baked into the file, so the model built for a product film or still can also serve the product page. That is how we work: XO3D delivers production-ready GLB and USDZ files through its product AR service, and builds product interactives such as 360-degree viewers and colourway configurators from the same Master Asset as the film and stills.
