Gandour
Chocolate Wafer Animation.
A photoreal CGI marketing suite for Gandour’s Unica Max chocolate wafer bar — layered structure, molten chocolate coating and a clean snap, captured at a level traditional food photography can’t reach.

The Unica Max film.
The Brief
Maximum visual impact for a layered hero product.
Gandour came to XO3D with a clear ambition — a 30-second marketing animation for the Unica Max chocolate wafer bar that could showcase its layers, crunch and smooth chocolate coating in a way photography couldn’t.
Alongside the hero film, the brief called for a 10-second edited cut for impactful short-form messaging and supporting packshot stills across three flavours — all sitting under one consistent brand language.
We translated the brief into photoreal CGI, advanced simulation work and precise material development — producing a complete suite of animations and stills that strengthen Gandour’s market presence and align seamlessly with the brand identity.
The Work
Three flavours, one CGI pipeline.
A complete food CGI library — flavour-matched hero films, simulation-driven detail shots and brand-consistent packshots produced from a single 3D source.
-
A premium reveal for the Dark variant.
A 30-second hero cut tuned to the Dark flavour — deep cocoa tones, glossy chocolate coating and crisp wafer crunch communicated through brand-led lighting and photoreal materials.
-
Warm hazelnut tones, the same pipeline.
The Hazelnut cut reuses the master scene — flavour-accurate textures, hazelnut shading and packaging colour grading swap in without re-shooting a single frame. Identical visual language, three flavours.
-
Original — the signature flavour.
The Original variant rounds out the trio, delivered as a matched 30-second cut. One CGI build, three brand-consistent product films — ready for product pages, paid social and trade marketing.
-
Crunch, simulated frame-by-frame.
A macro snapped-wafer close-up engineered with simulation passes — every fracture, crumb and layer modelled to communicate the crunch traditional food photography can never reach.
-
A closing pack-led beauty shot.
The final beat returns to the pack — three flavours, hero-lit, ready to land the brand in the viewer’s memory. Built to cut down cleanly to 10-second and 6-second versions.
Marketing-Ready Assets
Pour shots, ready for every channel.
A trio of chocolate pour sequences — broken, single and stacked wafer — produced from the same CGI source and drop-in ready for product pages, paid social and trade marketing.
Behind the Scenes
Supporting cuts — built from the same pipeline.
Beyond the hero film, the same CGI build delivered stacking sequences and device-mocked cutdowns — same models, same lighting, ready to redeploy across web and trade decks.

We reply to every brief personally — usually within one working day.
What challenges were there during production?
Directors Commentary.
Simulating organic materials — molten chocolate, crumbly wafer layers and a clean snap — needed real care to read as photoreal at every frame.
We leaned on advanced simulation, precise shading and an iterative feedback loop with Gandour to stay aligned to the brand at every stage.
The result is a CGI suite that captures the product’s essence — layers, crunch and coating — across animation and stills with total visual consistency.
