Allwood Joinery has returned to XO3D for a second time, requesting a project that closely resembled our previous work. The motivation behind this request stemmed from a significant redesign of their product. They not only revamped the assembly mechanism but also re-engineered the appearance and materials used in their new product, Modulite.
Having completed the initial project with Allwood, we possessed a thorough understanding of their requirements and a deep familiarity with the product. Additionally, we had the advantage of hindsight from our previous collaboration, which guided us in creating what could arguably be considered the finest interior animation produced by our XO3D team.
Allwood demonstrated their confidence in the new animation direction by granting us a larger budget and more time. This allowed us to showcase not only our refined animation skills but also our proficiency in simulation, sound design, and creative expertise. Through these efforts, we effectively highlighted the capabilities and appeal of this innovative product. The outcome evoked a strong sense of pride and excitement from both the client and our team.
Addressing Challenges and Implementing Solutions
Regrettably, Allwood faced an unfortunate incident that no business ever wishes to encounter—a fire at their factory. As anticipated, this disastrous event had numerous adverse consequences. Production came to a halt, inventory was destroyed, and understandably, the client had more pressing matters to attend to than engaging in back-and-forth discussions regarding our work.
Nevertheless, amidst this adversity, we discovered an opportunity for excellence. Given complete freedom, we utilized our full range of skills, creative expertise, and simulation techniques to create something truly exceptional. Our utmost priority was to assist this outstanding client in successfully launching their remarkable product. To achieve this, we exerted our utmost efforts and spared no resources. However, this endeavour would not have been possible without the unwavering trust granted to us by Allwood and their team.
WHY CGI?
At the outset, Allwood had not yet commenced production of their product but expressed a strong eagerness to initiate marketing efforts during the development phase. Building on the success of the initial project, they approached us once again for the second project, seeking something more substantial, superior, visually captivating, and with a higher potential to garner interest and drive sales.
