Industrial & Engineering CGI.

For products where the complexity of the engineering is the story — and the CGI has to honour it completely.

Overview

A CGI studio that answers to the engineering team, not just the marketing team.

Industrial and engineering products make specific demands of a CGI studio. The mechanism has to animate to the correct sequence. The tolerances have to be visually preserved. The material has to read as the specific alloy or coating — not a generic approximation. The dimensions have to match the engineering drawings. And the people reviewing the output include the engineers who designed it.

XO3D has worked with precision engineering companies, industrial automation brands, and mechanical systems manufacturers across years of production. Our Technical CGI service — built around CAD-accurate modelling, engineering team involvement in the review process, and physically based material reconstruction from material specifications — is designed for exactly this sector.

What We Produce

For industrial and engineering brands.

Mechanism Animations

How it works, shown correctly

Assembly sequences, mechanism reveals, and operational animations that show how a product functions — at the correct technical sequence, for any audience from engineers to investors.

Technical Product Films

Precision meets narrative

Films that communicate a product's technical value without sacrificing visual quality. Engineered for both marketing and technical sales contexts from a single brief.

Exploded Views & Documentation

Component-level clarity

Exploded assembly views, cross-sections, and component callout renders for technical documentation, patent submissions, and engineering sales materials.

Our Process for Industrial Projects

How XO3D works with technically complex products.

  1. STAGE 1

    CAD & Technical Onboarding

We receive and review your CAD files, engineering drawings, and material specifications. We identify gaps in the technical data and resolve them before modelling begins. An early-stage model review is shared with your engineering team — not just your marketing team — before any final production begins.

  2. STAGE 2

    Engineering Team Review

The people who built the product are the people best qualified to confirm whether the visualisation is accurate. XO3D includes an engineering review stage in every industrial project — a formal checkpoint where your technical team reviews the model before animation or final rendering begins.

  3. STAGE 3

    Material & Mechanism Development

Materials are built from your material specifications — not library approximations. If the product uses a specific aluminium alloy with a specific anodising process, we research and reconstruct that finish. Mechanisms are animated to the correct operational sequence, verified against your engineering documentation.

  4. STAGE 4

    Parallel Technical + Creative Review

Two review tracks run in parallel: your technical team confirms accuracy; your marketing team confirms communication effectiveness. Both inform the final output until both are satisfied.

FAQ

Industrial CGI questions.

What CAD file formats does XO3D accept?
XO3D accepts STEP, IGES, SolidWorks (.SLDPRT/.SLDASM), Rhino (.3DM), AutoCAD (.DWG/.DXF), Fusion 360, Catia, and most major CAD formats. We review your specific files before quoting to confirm geometry quality and identify any areas that need technical attention before modelling begins.
What if the product design changes during production?
Engineering products often change during development. XO3D builds industrial projects with version control and a structured change-request process. Minor design changes (surface geometry updates, component adjustments) can usually be implemented efficiently. Fundamental mechanism changes require a revised scope conversation. We surface this honestly and quickly — never on the final invoice.
